Raw Food White and Brown Coconut Macaroons

After the Lëtz Go Local Market last wknd, you all loved our coconut macaroons. So we will ofcourse share the recipes for these goodies with you.

These macaroons need to set a long time in a dehydrator or an oven, but they are well woth the wait and they fill your house with the most amazing smell!

  • 3 cups of coconut flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups of raw cocoa powder OR fine almond flour if you prefer the white version (you can also make half a portion white and half a portion brown)
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut butter
  • 1 tbsp. Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Sea or Himalaya salt

How to do:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl until you have an even dough.
  2. Using your hand or a spoon, make small uneven, roundish balls and place on a dehydrator screen or a lined baking tray.
  3. Let dry in the oven (approx 45-50c) or dehydrator for approx. 12-24 hours until crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside.
  4. Let the macaroons cool down and if you dont eat them all straight away, then keep them in an airtight container. If you keep them in the fridge they can keep for a week or two.

Let us know how you get along and if you have any suggestions to improving the recipe!
